Example of Photo and Captioning Activity
Many times a photo will have a caption attached to the image. This caption provides added information about the people, location, and/or events displayed in the photograph.
You will choose three (3) images from the interactive photo map. Cut and paste the photo onto your Google Document "BNB WebQuest". THEN, you will write two (2) captions for each photo.
Your first caption is a very short sentence or two. It provides information about where (lcoation) the picture was taken, who/what is in the picture, and possibly what is occuring in the picture. You might find information documented by another person to help create your caption. You might have to "make up" all of the information on your own. If this is the case, be sure to use information you have learned from this WebQuest and conversations in your class.

Your second caption is three to four sentences in length. It has the same information as your previous caption, but it also includes more detail and a actual, direct quote from someone either in the picture or who took the picture. Again, you might have to "make up" the extra details and direct quote on your own. The added details and quote should be realistic and based on factual information learned from this WebQuest and/or conversations held in your class.

Caption Two:
On May 27, 1937, in San Francisco, California, people walk across the Golden Gate Bridge for the first time ever. Over 2000 people arrived to make the historic walk. Gene Richards, a resident of Wyoming, actually drove all the way to California to join in the walk: "This bridge is a thing of beauty. It boggles the mind on how man can create an such a thing out of metal, concrete, and wire."
